How Cobber Protects Your Data

A plain-English look at what we collect, why we collect it, and how it's kept safe when you play with us.

Your Data, Handled Properly

Last updated: September 29, 2026

Every Aussie player who opens a Cobber account hands over some personal information along the way. This page explains exactly what we collect, how it's used, who might see it, and how long we hold on to it.

What We Collect and Why

When you register at Cobber, we collect the basics needed to open a real-money account: your full name, date of birth, email address, mobile number and residential address. This isn't optional paperwork. Age and identity checks are how we confirm you're 18 or over and eligible to hold an account under Australian rules, and how we keep the platform safe from fraud.

Once you start depositing or withdrawing, we also collect payment-related data. That includes PayID details, POLi transaction references, card numbers (partially masked), bank account details for transfers, and wallet addresses if you deposit with Bitcoin or Tether. We don't store full card numbers or wallet private keys on our own servers. Payment processing partners handle the sensitive parts of that transaction under their own security standards.

If you contact our support team, whatever you share in that conversation, chat transcripts, emails, or call notes, gets logged against your account. This is mainly so the next support agent you speak to doesn't need you to repeat the whole story, and so we have a record if a dispute over a bonus or a withdrawal ever needs reviewing.

How Account Verification Works

Before your first withdrawal, and sometimes before that, we'll ask for identity verification. This usually means a photo ID, such as an Australian driver's licence or passport, and sometimes a recent utility bill or bank statement to confirm your address. This is standard across regulated and reputable online casinos and exists to stop identity theft, underage play and money laundering, not to slow down honest players.

Documents you upload for verification are stored securely and only accessed by staff who need to review them for compliance purposes. We don't share these files with marketing teams or third parties outside of what's needed to process your account.

Who Sees Your Information

  • Payment providers processing your PayID, POLi, card or crypto transactions
  • Identity verification services used to confirm age and address
  • Customer support staff handling your queries or disputes
  • Fraud and security teams monitoring for suspicious account activity
  • Regulatory or law enforcement bodies, only where legally required

We don't sell player data to advertisers or data brokers. Any marketing emails about promotions or VIP perks come from us directly, and you can opt out of those at any time from your account settings without affecting your ability to play or withdraw.

Data Security Measures

We also recommend players do their part: use a unique password for your Cobber account, avoid sharing login details, and enable any two-factor options available in your account settings once you've registered.

How Long We Keep Your Data

Account and transaction records are typically retained for a period after your last activity, largely because financial and anti-money-laundering obligations require it. If you close your account, some data may still be held for a set period to meet these obligations before it's deleted or anonymised. Marketing preferences and support chat logs are generally kept for a shorter window, mainly to help resolve any follow-up queries.

Your Rights Over Your Data

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold on your account, ask us to correct inaccurate details, or request account closure at any time. Reach out through the support options listed on our contact channels and our team will guide you through the process. Some requests, particularly deletion, may be delayed where we're required to retain transaction records for compliance reasons.

Cookies and Browsing Data

Like most online platforms, Cobber uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember your game preferences, and understand which promotions and pokies are getting attention. None of this is used to build a profile for sale to outside advertisers. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling some may affect how smoothly the site runs.
